Salary £31,000
As a Driving Instructor, you’ll be responsible for teaching individuals how to drive safely and competently in accordance with national road regulations. You’ll provide instruction for both practical driving and theoretical knowledge, such as traffic rules and basic automotive knowledge. Get those tyres turning and earn between £31,000 and £45,000 a year with the opportunity to change lanes in the future and become your own boss!

Qualifications and Skills
Fuel your future and gain the qualifications to direct you towards a career as a Driving instructor. This career path allows you the freedom to choose any subjects to study at GCSE and A-level, however, studying business is a good option if you wish to become self-employed later on. The main qualification you’ll need to begin your journey is a full driver’s license.
Following your education, you will need to complete 3 qualifying tests which will allow you to become a fully qualified driving instructor. Help you arrive at your destination by becoming a trainee instructor and gaining some on the road experience.
What you can be doing now
Get ahead of the ‘curb’ by brushing up on the highway code, learning the rules of the road and most importantly, practice! To teach driving you need to be a proficient driver. So, put pedal to the metal in your career as a Driving Instructor and gain your driver’s licence, which needs to be held for a minimum of 3 years before you are eligible to take the Driving Instructor tests. By gaining this alongside studying, you can speed ahead in your career.
